FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: in an orotron containing an electron gun, a collector, an open resonator formed by two mirrors, one of which is flat and rigidly fixed, and the other mirror is made focusing and is mounted movable in a direction perpendicular to the flat mirror, a periodic structure located on the flat mirror and covering its whole surface, an output of the energy of electromagnetic oscillations, an additional rectangular plane-parallel metal plate is introduced, on one of the surfaces of which a longitudinal protrusion is made in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped with a plane of symmetry common to the plate, and its surface parallel to the plate surface is made polished, and a metal channel, between the legs of which the mentioned protrusion is located. The wall of the protrusion is made in the form of a periodic structure, and the legs have a height equal to the height of the protrusion and fit tightly to its lateral surfaces, and at the ends they pass into flat sections parallel to the channel wall. Various versions of the orotron's execution with both a single-row periodic structure and with a two-row periodic structure are considered, as an example of the possibility of using a multi-row periodic structure in the proposed construction.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of the orotron open resonator and, as a consequence, increased efficiency of the orotron load.
