SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to flare solid fuel containing components of different reactivity (volatile). The fuel burning method consists in bringing the coal dust to the burners with primary air as the mixture of pulverized coal with the primary air, in the area of ignition of the burners due to the pyrolysis of coal dust from the mixture of pulverized coal with the primary air, primary gas with combustibles, gaseous components is produced, in the area of ignition the excess air is reduced by reducing its share in the fuel mixture or increasing the share of combustible components of the fuel in the fuel mixture, a flow of the primary gas mixture with the remaining portion of the solid fuel is performed, it is mixed with secondary air and post-combustion of the produced fuel mixture is performed in the furnace. In the ignition zone, the temperature threshold of carbon oxidation is reduced, for example, by electric action on the fuel mixture or by catalytic methods, slowing down the output of high-reaction fuel components, and by increasing the degree of gasification of carbon, its content in the resulting fuel mixture is reduced, while increasing the fraction of the gaseous components of the fuel in the resulting fuel mixture for afterburning it in the furnace.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the reactivity of the burnt fuel and to increase the efficiency of its combustion, to reduce the content of nitrogen oxides formed during the combustion of fuel.
