FIELD: pharmacology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for 6- (5-ethoxyhept-1-yl) bicyclo[3.3.0]octane-3-one synthesis as a racemic mixture which is used for the treatment of dihydrotestosterone-mediated disorders. The method comprises reaction of the first mixture containing 7,7-dichloro-4-(5-ethoxyhept-1-yl)bicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-6-one and 6,6-dichloro-4-(5-ethoxyhept-1-yl)bicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-7-one with acetic acid and zinc to form the second mixture containing 4-(5-ethoxyhept-1-yl)bicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-6-one and 4-(5-ethoxyhept-1-yl)bicyclo[3.2.0] heptane-7-one, reaction of the said second mixture with trimethylsulfonium iodide to form the third mixture containing 2-(5-ethoxyhept-1-yl)spiro[bicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-6.2'-oxyrane] and 4-(5-ethoxyhept-1-yl)spiro[bicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-6,2'-oxyrane], and reaction of the said third mixture with Lewis acid to form 6-5-ethoxyhept-1-yl)bicyclo[3.3.0]octan-3-one. The invention also relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing 6-(5-ethoxyhept-1-yl)bicyclo[3.3.0]octan-3-one obtained as described above in the form of a racemic mixture prepared as described above.

EFFECT: method allows to obtain the desired product in good yield and purity suitable for use in a pharmaceutical composition.
