SUBSTANCE: method of refining an aqueous sugar stream of a lignocellulosic hydrolyzate is provided that comprises bringing the aqueous sugar stream into contact with an amine solvent extractant to form a mixture; separating the first organic stream containing an amine solvent extractant, a mineral acid, an organic acid and an impurity; and the second aqueous stream containing one or more sugars from the mixture; bringing the first stream into contact with the base solution to form a neutralized amine extractant. The amine extractant-solvent comprises amine containing, at least, 20 carbon atoms and a diluent.
EFFECT: new efficient method of refining sugars from lignocellulosic hydrolyzate.
