SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a process for production of sugars from biomass derived from guayule plants, which includes bringing the biomass into contact with water and at least one organic acid and optionally at least one inorganic acid to obtain a mixture of sugars.

EFFECT: invention allows to obtain sugars that can be used as carbon sources in fermentation processes for the production of alcohols, lipids, diols or in chemical synthesis processes for the production of other intermediate products or chemicals.
