SUBSTANCE: method of detecting a local object against a background of distributed interference is proposed, which is based on sonar radiation of two consecutive parallels of the same probing signals and the correlation processing of echoes received using a single-channel characteristic of the sonar receiving antenna.
EFFECT: ability to use a single-channel sonar or multi-channel sonar, which does not have special requirements for the width of the static fan directivity characteristics of its receiving antenna.
