FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for applying direct application markings (DAM) directly onto a markable object. The method for protecting the surface-based direct application marking (DAM) from external exposure during operation involves applying a protective coating on the DAM in the form of, at least, one protective film on a polymer base, while a protective composition comprising a mixture of organic solvents in an amount of 50-55% of the total weight of the protective composition, a mixture of acrylic polymers in an amount of 40-45% of the total weight of the protective composition, coalescent in an amount of up to 2.5% of the total weight of the composition in the form of butyl glycol acetate, less than 0.3% of the total weight of the composition of each of the cellulose thickener, defoamer, biocide, not more than 20% of the total weight of the protective composition of the additive having protective properties, in the form of a dye, fluorescent pigment or filler dispersing light in the form of fine fractions of chalk, titanium oxide or barium sulphate, are used as a material of the protective film. The said mixture of organic solvents consists of 72% of a high boiling solvent in the form of methyl- or ethyl-cellosolve, 17% of a solvent with an average boiling point in the form of toluene or butyl acetate and 11% of a light boiling solvent in the form of acetone or diethyl ether.
EFFECT: protection of direct application markings from external exposures and unauthorized reading and recovery, including - repeatedly, decoding of the protected direct application marking, reading of which ceased or became difficult.
