FIELD: marking; encoding/decoding.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical and optoelectronic means of marking, analogue-to-digital encoding and decoding of different objects and products. A directly applied symbol tag (DAST) consists of information elements formed on a surface of a marked part in the form of conical recesses in needle-impact marking or surface sections with micro-cracks and roughness changing its mechanical properties, processed with laser radiation and with laser engraving, filled with a marking composition. In this case, the marking composition contains X-ray contrast substance having absorption in an X-ray spectral range greater than absorption of material of the marked part, and a thickness of a layer of the specified marking composition is selected so that absorption of X-ray radiation by a marked section exceeds its absorption by an unmarked surface.

EFFECT: increase in the reliability of identification of a symbol tag on an X-ray image.
