FIELD: packaging industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a removable self-adhesive label that includes a polymer film with a high tensile modulus of elacticity corresponding to a container with a glued label and a method for removing a label from container. The label contains (a) film, having a first surface and a second surface containing a first layer of film; and (b) the contact adhesive layer, having a first surface and a second surface and containing the adhesive, where the first surface of adhesive layer adhesively connectes with the second surface of the film; (c) where the first film layer contains at least one thermoplastic polymer, where the first film layer has a tensile modulus of elasticity (ASTM D882) in the machine direction or the transverse direction of at least 900 MPa after immersion in water at a temperature of about 80°C for at least about 3 minutes, or the first film layer has an absolute change of surface size (ASTM D1204) of less than 5.0% after immersion in water at a temperature of about 80°C for at least about 3 minutes, or a combination of these properties, wherein the thermoplastic polymer of the first film layer contains a polymer selected from the group consisting of (meth) acrylate polymer, styrene polymer, polyester, halogen-containing polymer, polycarbonate, polyacrylonitrile, aromatic polyether, aromatic polyimide, aromatic polyamide-imide and mixture of two or more of any of the aforementioned polymers, wherein the contact adhesive exhibits at least one of the following properties: reducing the adhesion strength at temperatures higher than room temperature or ambient temperature, decreasing strength of adhesion upon contact with aqueous caustic solution or a combination of these properties, wherein the label has an opacity of 12% or less, wherein the first film layer is unoriented, wherein said film is a monolayer film.
EFFECT: creating label that meets the requirements for industry of reusable and recyclable beverage bottles.
