FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: application of label on article with surface that features at least one complex curvature said label having: (i) shrinkable film with inner and outer surfaces, machine and transverse directions; (ii) contact glue ply on film inner surface; (iii) note here that said label has first edge and contact zone. Contact glue ply is brought in contact with article in label contact zone. Then, said label is heated and pressed in direction from contact zone towards first edge for it to be glued to article and shrunk to take up the article curvature. Note here that heat and pressure are brought about by at least one hot air squeegee. The latter comprises hot air source, flow control mechanism and at least one squeegee slit with hot air. Note also that shrinkable film features limit shrinkage S in at least one of machine or transverse direction making at least 10% at 90°C. Note that shrinkage in another direction makes S±20%.

EFFECT: better adhesion.
