SUBSTANCE: in one embodiment, the fluid ejection device includes a slotted ink hole formed in the print head crystal. The fluid ejection device also includes an ink level sensor (PILS) built into the print head to measure the ink level of the camera in fluid communication with the slotted hole and a resistor cleaning circuit inside the chamber to clean this chamber of ink.
EFFECT: increase the accuracy of determining the ink level.
