The device includes a sensor configured to detect movement of the device in the standby mode (or active mode) of the device; a storage configured to store motion information based on the information that relates to the movement, and at least one piece of function information corresponding to the motion information; and a processor configured to control the device to perform a function corresponding to the motion information in a predetermined operating mode based on the information that relates to the movement, the motion information, and at least this one piece of function information.
