SUBSTANCE: method for performing a function of a device based on information about a device’s motion in a predetermined operating mode (e.g., active or standby mode) and a device for performing the method are provided. The device includes a sensor configured to detect the device’s motion in a standby (or active) mode of the device; a storage configured to store motion information based on information that relates to the movement, and at least one snippet of function information corresponding to the motion information; and a processor configured to control the device to perform a function corresponding to motion information in a given operating mode based on information that relates to movement, motion information, and at least one snippet of the function information.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improving accessibility of applications, services and content or availability of functions that can be performed with devices.
