FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: matrix of the liquid lens preforms contains a plurality of liquid lens preforms. Each liquid lens preform comprises a rigid lens and a semi-flexible inflatable membrane directly attached to the rigid lens and is divided into, at least, two zones comprising: the first cavity region elongated in a radial direction outward from the central region of each liquid lens preform, forming a cavity between the membrane and the rigid lens in the cavity region, and the second bonded region elongated in a radial direction outward from the first region of the cavity towards the edge of each liquid lens preform. The membrane is flexibly hermetically sealed to the rigid lens over the entire second connected region, having a size that allows it to be trimmed to fit a variety of shapes and sizes of the frame and supporting a flexible sealed membrane fastening with the rigid lens.
EFFECT: providing a given optical power by creating the required level of lens inflation.
