FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: mechanism for changing the optical strength of an optical apparatus, having an optical component comprising a cavity filled with a variable amount of liquid and a reservoir containing additional liquid and able to transfer the liquid into said cavity, comprises a diaphragm sealing said reservoir, and an actuator for moving the diaphragm relative to said reservoir in order to change pressure then so as to vary the amount of liquid inside the cavity of the optical component. The actuator has a plunger pressing on the diaphragm and movable in opposing directions perpendicular to the diaphragm, and a moving device for moving the plunger, which moves coaxially along the holder of the optical apparatus. The reservoir is placed adjacent to the holder. The moving device can be placed along said holder such that the plunger moves due to rotation thereof.
EFFECT: enabling adjustment of optical strength in the widest possible range and minimisation of the volume of the liquid lens.
