FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method of producing a catalyst is described, comprising the following steps: (a) extruding a mixture that contains zeolite and alumina or alumina hydrate as a binder, (b) calcining the extrudate produced in step (a), (c) treating extrudate produced in step (b) calcined with steam, (d) applying the phosphorus-containing compound to the steam-treated extrudate from step (c), and (e) calcining the phosphorus-modified extrudate from step (d), the phosphorus mass fraction in the produced catalyst after step (e) is from 0.8 to 2.5 wt %. The invention also relates to a catalyst for the conversion of oxygenates to olefins, a method of producing olefins from oxygenates, and the use of the catalyst for converting oxygenates to olefins.

EFFECT: extended service life with unchanged selectivity and increased conversion.
