FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a zeolite-based catalyst, which includes the following steps: (a) adding a first phosphorus-containing compound to a pentasil-type zeolite powder to obtain a phosphorus-modified zeolite, (b) adding aluminium oxide and acid to the phosphorus-modified zeolite at step (a), and optionally mixing and homogenising said mixture, (c) moulding, drying and calcining the mixture obtained at step (b) to obtain moulded material, and (d) impregnating the moulded material at step (c) with a second phosphorus-containing compound to obtain a phosphorus-modified catalyst and (e) calcining the phosphorus-modified catalyst obtained at step (d). The invention also relates to a catalyst obtained using the disclosed method, for converting methanol into olefins, as well as to the use of the catalyst.
