FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises the step of providing, at least, one input image. Further, according to the method, the input image is scaled to form a scaled image. Next, the scaled image is segmented into non-overlapping image segments, each image segment comprising a plurality of image components. Processing for each of the image segments is performed. The said processing comprises calculating a feature vector characterizing the texture and colour features in the image segment.
EFFECT: increasing the resolution and detail level of the input image, which improves the image quality.
