SUBSTANCE: method of organising images in a display device as a response to receiving a scaling indication with respect to the first arrangement of images comprises creating the second arrangement by placing an image from the second display line into the first display line, if the size of the said image is not larger than the display region remaining in the first line after receiving a scaling indication, or placing an image from the first line into the second line, if the size of the said image is larger than the display region remaining in the first line after receiving the scaling indication. The scaling indication corresponds to a scaling factor which depends on the combination of the first scaling distance between the first finger and the second finger and the second scaling distance between the first finger and the second finger. The first distance and the second distance correspond to a compression gesture.

EFFECT: reducing image distortions while reducing the unused display region in a dynamic arrangement when scaling images.
