SUBSTANCE: method involves catalytic hydrolysis-dehydration of mechanically activated microscopic cellulose using a modified heterogeneous Sibunit-4 catalyst, extraction of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural and fermentation of the formed sugars into ethanol using the thermotolerant yeast Kluyveromyces marxianus VKPM Y-4290.
EFFECT: high ethanol yield.
