FIELD: pharmacology.

SUBSTANCE: composition for oral care includes precipitated calcium carbonate; orally acceptable diluent; basic amino acid which is arginine in free form or in the form of salt; preserving system comprising propylene glycol in an amount of 2 to 12 wt %, based on the composition weight, and at least one of the following: benzyl alcohol, benzoic acid or a benzoic acid salt. A method for teeth sensitivity management and a method for dental tubule plugging on a mammalian dental surface involving dental surface coating with the above composition. In addition, it is proposed to use the above composition comprising propylene glycol as a preservative and to enhance oral care composition adhesion to the tooth surface in an amount of 5 to 7 wt %, based on the composition weight, in the method for teeth sensitivity management, and in the method for dentinal tubule plugging on the mammalian tooth surface by applying the composition to the mammalian tooth surface.

EFFECT: composition content provides its effectiveness for dentinal tubules plugging and treatment of teeth hypersensitivity, high antimicrobial activity against moulds/fungi in the absence of parabens of preserving systems, as well as good adhesion to the tooth surface and composition retention on the tooth surface.
