SUBSTANCE: method contains: converting images in the group of images into halftone images; for each of the images in the group of images, determining the first number and the second number of pixels based on the halftone image corresponding to the original image, wherein the first number, in which each pixel has a brightness of less than the first brightness threshold, and the second number, in which every pixel has a brightness greater than the second brightness threshold, are present in the halftone image corresponding to the original image; defining the first relationship of the first number to the total number of pixels in the halftone image and the second relationship of the second number to the total number; defining a quality parameter of the tone characteristics of images based on the first and the second relationship, and choosing from the group of images, based on the characteristics of the tone quality of images in the group of images, each image that has a quality parameter of the tone characteristics less than the threshold of the tone characteristics to get the first set of images.
