FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes irradiation of gas emissions by ultraviolet radiation of an electric discharge in the working range of wavelengths with an average light energy density of 10-3-3⋅10-1J/cm2, while irradiation is carried out in the presence of ozone and carbamide at the gas emission temperature of 0°C - +250°C, with ozone being produced by irradiating the flow of air supplied to the pre-irradiation chamber. Large values of the average light energy density from this range are used in the pre-irradiation chamber, while the smaller values are used directly in the gas flue, wherein irradiation of gas emissions by ultraviolet radiation of the electric discharge in the gas flue is carried out in the spectral range of 290-360 nm. Irradiation of gas emissions by ultraviolet radiation of an electric discharge in a pre-irradiation chamber is carried out in the spectral range of 360-430 nm.
EFFECT: invention allows to increase the degree of purification of industrial emissions from toxic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
