FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of purifying gas emissions from polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, in particular benz(a)pyrene. Method includes irradiation of gas emissions by ultraviolet radiation of electric discharge in spectral range of wavelengths 290-430 nm with average density of light energy 10-3-3×10-1 J/cm2 in presence of ozone and water in form of liquid or vapour at temperature of gas emissions 0°C-250°C, with ozone being obtained by irradiation of air flow, supplied into chamber of preliminary irradiation, with larger values of average density of light energy from said range being used in chamber of preliminary irradiation, and lower directly in installation gas flue.
EFFECT: invention provides increased degree of purification of industrial emissions from toxic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, including benz(a)pyrene, and reduce acidic corrosion of installation gas flue.
