FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oxidation of toxic impurities of volatile organic compounds in waste gases of industrial enterprises and can be used in chemical, petrochemical, paint and varnish, machine building, and other industries. The method for purifying gases from organic impurities is based on successively alternating stages of gas purification by adsorption of impurities in the adsorbent-catalyst layer, through which the gas stream to be purified passes at temperatures below the oxidation temperatures of the impurities, and the regeneration stage of the adsorbent catalyst due to the oxidation of the adsorbed catalysts on the surface of the adsorbent-impurity catalyst in current of the oxygen-containing regenerating gas at a temperature above the oxidation start temperature of the adsorbed impurities. In this method, according to the invention, the adsorbent-catalyst layer is divided into, at least, two equal volume segments of the layer, the purified gas stream is divided into several parallel streams over the number of the layer segments, each of these streams is passed separately through the corresponding segment of the adsorbent-catalyst, after which all the separated streams are mixed back into one common stream of purified gases, wherein the regeneration stage of the adsorbent-catalyst in each of the layer segments is produced alternately.

EFFECT: increasing the overall degree of gas purification.
