FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: "scaling" semantics are often used to simulate an optical visual depth in which visual elements are presented with different visual sizes and visual resolution to simulate physical proximity or remoteness. However, "scaling" semantics can alternatively be applied to other aspects of stage visual elements, for example, to the user's choice of enlarged visual element, the "dive" operation on the data array, or to navigate through the portal in the first data array to view the second data array. These alternative "scaling" semantics can be achieved by representing the effects of "scaling" operation in a scene on a visual representation of a visual element other than adjusting the visual dimensions and resolution of visual element.
EFFECT: scene containing a set of visual elements can allow a user to perform scaling operations to move through the depth of the scene.
