FIELD: computer equipment.
SUBSTANCE: scene containing a set of visual elements may allow the user to perform "scaling" operations for movement along the scene depth. Semantics of "scaling" is often used to imitate optical visual depth, wherein visual elements are presented with different visual dimensions and visual resolution for imitation of physical proximity or distance. However, the "scaling" semantics can alternatively be applied to other aspects of the visual elements of the scene, for example, a user selection of a large-scale visual element, an "immersion" operation on the data array, or movement through the portal in the first data array to view the second data array. These alternative "scaling" semantics can be achieved by presenting effects of "scaling" in a scene on a visual representation of a visual element, different from adjustment of visual dimensions and resolution of visual element.
EFFECT: technical result is providing presentation of a new type of scene, where visual elements are presented with large or smaller visual dimensions or with a higher or lower visual resolution.
