SUBSTANCE: in the application, a surface cleaning device is described, comprising a rag platform (12) having a central link (32) on which the first side link (34) rotatable about the first axis (46) and the second side member (36 ), rotatable about the second axis (48), and having a fixing device (122) enabling the first side link (34) and the second side link (36) to be fixed to the central link (32) in a fixed angular position (88) in which the lower side (66) of the first side link (34), the lower side (50) of the central link (32) and the lower side (66) of the second side link (36) are at least approximately in the same plane, and also comprising a holder (18) holding the rag platform (12) and connected with the central link (32) rotatable about the third axis (100). In the first range of angular positions of the holder (18) relative to the central link (32), the holder (18) is not connected to the fixing device (122), and in the second range of angular positions, the holder (18) acts on the fixing device (122) and by rotating the holder (18) to the second range and/or in the second range of angular positions, fixation of the angular position of the first side link (34) and the second side link (36) on the central link (32) is removed.
