FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of pelvic organs is performed using T2 weighted images (WI). The uterine tubes are visualized the on T2-WI in axial and coronal projections, made with thin sections of 1 mm, examining the presence or absence of the following diagnostic patterns. The white button symptom is a round cavity of the fetal egg, surrounded by a uniformly thick iso-intensive trophoblast envelope. The curd cheese croissant symptom is an oval-shaped cavity of the fetal egg, surrounded by a thick-walled non-uniform trophoblast envelope. Bean cotyledon symptom is an oval-shaped cavity of the ectopic fetal egg, reminiscent of a bean cotyledon. The interrupted contour symptom is the discontinuity of the contour of the uterine tube wall from the side of the trophoblast chorion. The black crescent symptom is a subacute stage hematoma surrounding the fetal egg pole. A white hole symptom is a fetal egg detached from the uterine tube walls and surrounded by a hematoma. Unchanged uterine tube symptom is a uterine tube with an unexpanded cavity. When a white button symptom is detected, EP is diagnosed for 4.5-5.5 weeks, 5.5-6.5 weeks for the curd cheese croissant symptom, 6.5-7.5 weeks for the bean cotyledon symptom. When the interrupted contour symptom is detected, a possibility of a prompt rupture of the uterine tube is diagnosed. The black crescent symptom indicates a hematoma in the subacute stage with EP. With the white hole symptom, fetal egg detachment from the walls of the uterine tube is diagnosed. The unchanged uterine tube symptom indicates the absence of EP.
EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis without using contrast.
