SUBSTANCE: valve assembly of main stage uses the technology of hydraulic cartridges. Linear cartridge of the main stage for pressure regulation. The cartridge selectively regulates the flow in the line in the same direction. A tubular plate valve can be mounted in the housing having a sliding adjustment sleeve which may open radial holes in the plate valve for the open position and close the radial holes in the closed position. The cartridge can be made in various ways to perform various functions, such as a pressure relief valve, a balancing valve and a flow control valve. The cartridge may also be configured to allow or prevent backflow. A method for regulating fluid flow is also proposed.

EFFECT: minimization of leakage, allows to minimize energy loss at the main flow stage.
