FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: fuel element is formed by layering a plurality of power generation units. The power generation unit includes: a gas-diffusion membrane-electrode plate assembly, a sealing part located along its outer periphery, a flow part of a porous body in which an oxidizing gas supplied to the catalytic layer of the cathode side flows, a protective shield located between the sealing part and the flow part of the porous body, and the first and the second separating plates made with the possibility to settle the gas-diffusion membrane-electrode plate assembly and the flow part of the porous body between them. The protective shield, the flow part of the porous body and the first separating plate adjoining to the flow part of the porous body, protrude into the exhaust manifold of the waste oxidizing gas, bounded by the sealing part.
EFFECT: invention allows to limit the return flow of water from the exhaust manifold to the flow part.
