FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and specifically to a fuel cell device which can be used to increase efficiency thereof. Fuel cell comprises assembly of membrane-electrode unit with gas-diffusion layers, in which membrane-electrode unit is arranged between a pair of gas-diffusion layers, insulating element formed in the form of a frame and in contact with an external peripheral portion of the assembly of the membrane electrode unit with gas-diffusion layers, and first and second separators, between which there arranged is membrane-electrode unit with gas-diffusion layers and insulating element. Proposed design ensures reduction of flow rate of reagent gas enveloping said unit assembly.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of electric power generation is technical result of invention.
