FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises the stages of recording and processing the measurement data of each sensitive element of the inertial navigation system. At the first stage of processing the measurement data an array of information averaging intervals multiple of the data sampling cycle is formed. At the second stage of processing the set of Allan variation values corresponding to the averaging intervals of the inertial navigation system sensing element is determined as the square of the quadratic mean of relative two-sample deviation of the measurement data. At the third stage of processing the resulting set of Allan variation value is approximated by a polynomial with degrees of -2, -1, 0, +1, +2. The coefficients of the polynomial approximant are chosen by minimizing its total absolute discrepancy with the values of the Allan variation on a logarithmic scale.
EFFECT: simplifying the implementation procedure and increasing the reliability of the determination of noise components in the measurement data of inertial navigation system sensing elements.
