SUBSTANCE: method for controlling the drilling assembly is provided, comprising: obtaining measurement data from at least one sensor attached to an element of the drilling assembly and located in the formation, determining operational limit for at least a portion of the drilling assembly based at least in part on formation model and a plurality of deviation data, this determination includes determination of the upper and lower limits of a number of twists in drill pipe string of the drilling assembly; generation of control signal for changing one or more parameters of the drilling assembly based at least in part on the measurement data and the operational limit; and transmitting the control signal to the control element of the drilling assembly.
EFFECT: elimination of non-uniform rotation of the drill string in case of jamming or slippage of the drill bit.
