The model can take the drilling parameters of the drilling system as input signals. The development speed for the drilling system can be determined at least in part on the basis of the model. The model can be modeled using the first set of values for the drilling parameters, and the control mode for the drilling system can be calculated at least in part based on the penetration rate and simulation results. The control signal applied to the drilling system can be created at least in part based on the control mode.
