SUBSTANCE: eye-mounted device comprises a transparent material having a central region, concave and convex surfaces, a ring-shaped substrate, at least, partially embedded in the transparent material, a light source disposed on the substrate far from the central region and configured to emit light that can be seen through the pupil, and a circuit located on the substrate and configured to modulate the light emitted by the light source. The concave surface is removable on the surface of the cornea with overlapping a pupil, and the convex surface is designed to be compatible with the eyelid movement.
