ROTARY SUPPORT AND CONNECTING ASSEMBLY FOR CONNECTION OF FIRST PART OF SURGICAL INSTRUMENT WITH SECOND PART OF SURGICAL INSTRUMENT Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61B17/72

Abstract RU 2640003 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: surgical stapler comprises an elongated rod assembly and an end effector. The elongated rod assembly has a distal end and forms the longitudinal axis of the instrument. The end effector contains an elongated channel assembly and a stop. The elongated channel assembly includes a portion configured to functionally support a surgical cartridge with staples therein. The stop is supported with an ability to move relative to the elongated channel assembly. The surgical stapler further comprises a rotary connection connecting the elongated channel assembly to the distal end of the elongated rod assembly to enable selective rotation of the elongated channel assembly about the longitudinal axis of the instrument relative to the distal end of the elongated rod assembly. The rotary connection comprises the first annular groove in one of the elongated rod assembly or the elongated channel assembly; the second annular groove in the other elongated channel assembly or the elongated rod assembly for substantial alignment with the first annular groove; and an annular bearing supported within the aligned first and second annular grooves. The elongated channel assembly comprises a cylindrical connecting portion. The distal end of the elongated rod assembly comprises a socket portion, the size of which allows to rotatably receive the cylindrical connecting portion. The first annular groove is formed around the perimeter of the cylindrical connecting portion, and the second annular groove is formed in the inner wall of the socket portion. The socket portion includes a window communicating with the second annular groove. The annular bearing includes a free end that can be inserted through the window into the aligned first and second annular grooves. The rotary support and connecting assembly for surgical end effector connection with surgical instrument elongated rod assembly, wherein the rotatable support and connecting assembly comprises a cylindrical connecting portion on the surgical end effector, the first annular groove along the connecting portion perimeter, a socket on the elongate shaft, the second annular groove in the inner socket wall, a window in the socket connected with the second annular groove and an annular bearing element. The size of the socket on the elongated rod allows it to receive the cylindrical connecting part so that the cylindrical connecting part can freely rotate relative to the socket. The second annular groove in the inner wall of the socket is intended to substantially align with the first annular groove when the cylindrical connecting portion is positioned inside the socket. The annular bearing element includes a free end that is insertable through the window into the aligned first and second annular grooves. The method for rotary connectuib of the first part of the surgical instrument with the second part of the surgical instrument, wherein the method comprising formation of the first annular groove in the first part, formation of the second annular groove in the second part, insertion of the first part into the second part so that the first and second annular grooves are substantially aligned, insertio of the annular bearing inside the aligned first and second annular grooves. The annular bearing includes a free end, and the insert comprises an insertion of the free end through the window in the second portion.

EFFECT: inventions provide easy assembly, as well as good support for the end effector, which allows its rotation.
