FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. Surgical instrument includes a blocking system and a surgical end effector, activated by a pivoting drive shaft assembly. Rotatable bar is movable between a plurality of separate axial positions. At the node of the rotary drive shaft, at least one retaining structure is provided corresponding to each of the individual axial positions. At least one locking member is functionally supported with respect to the rotary drive shaft assembly for retaining engagement with at least one of the retaining structures, when the rotary drive shaft assembly is moved to its respective individual axial positions.
EFFECT: surgical instrument is proposed.
