SUBSTANCE: method includes determining measurement values of a bottomhole assembly sensor, determining a model of the bottomhole assembly dynamics based on the measurement values of the bottomhole assembly sensor, determining a weight factor which corresponds to the final drilling point, determining a target function including the final drilling point weighted by the weight factor and one or more restrictions, wherein the target function comprises future states of the bottomhole assembly system, and determining said target function includes determining calculated future deviation from the target borehole path, determining an input control action on the bottomhole assembly that meets the target function and one or more restrictions, and using an input control action to the bottomhole assembly.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of the drill string bottom hole assembly control.
