FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a fuel for compression ignition engines comprising dimethyl ether of mono-oxymethylene, characterized in that it contains at least 80 wt % of dimethyl ether of mono-oxymethylene and up to 20 wt % of at least one n-polyoxaalkane type oxygenate which is selected from the group consisting of dialkyl ethers of polyoxymethylene of the formula RO(-CH2O-)nR, where n=4-10 and R = an alkyl group, dialkyl ethers of polyethylene glycol and/or polyalkylene glycol monoalkyl ether formulas, and the cetane number of fuel is ≥48.6.
EFFECT: reducing harmful emissions, reducing emissions of soot from the combustion of this fuel.
