FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention describes a fuel composition for diesel engines, which, as an additive to diesel fuel, contains 5–20 % by weight of a mixture of alkyl nitrates of C10-C13 alcohols, 5–20 % by weight of a mixture of simple symmetric dialkyl ethers based on C10-C13 alcohols and up to 100 % by weight of diesel fuel or any hydrocarbon solvent, wherein as the starting alcohols C10-C13 to obtain a mixture of alkyl nitrates and a mixture of simple symmetric dialkyl ethers, using a fraction of alcohols C10-C13, obtained by liquid-phase oxidation of the n-alkanes C10-C13 fraction with aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution in a methanol environment on a DP-1 heterogeneous catalyst, and then the reaction mass hydrogenating on a Pd/Al2O3 rigid cellular catalyst.

EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing of diesel fuels cetane number by 6–8 units, in increasing of the lubrication performance by 20–30 % and in reducing of the diesel fuels pour point by 17–20 °C.
