FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method of fibre stabilization of optical path length differences includes the operation of splitting a beam radiated by a laser into the first optical beam and the second optical beam. Also, the first optical beam is directed to the adjustable optical telescope and the second optical beam - to the reference optical telescope. The first directed beam is divided into the first optical beam and the beam of the adjustable optical telescope and the second directed beam - into the second optical beam and the beam of the reference optical telescope. Using an interferometer, a sinusoidal signal is obtained on the basis of the first and the second optical beams. The sinusoidal signal is filtered to generate a high-frequency signal for controlling the fibre expander and a low-frequency signal for controlling the translational table.

EFFECT: collecting light from two telescopes through optical fibres with minimal differences in optical path lengths and with minimal optical dispersion by using a reference laser connected to these two optical fibres.
