SUBSTANCE: in the control method of the peripheral device in the control system, a holiday or the startup time of the installation are provided with a storage device containing a prohibited period characterizing the shift transmission time; the peripheral device is controlled; the occurrence of a diagnostic event that characterizes a specific time, a predetermined operating hours limit or the time since the last check are detected. A diagnostic check of the peripheral device is formulated in response to the diagnostic event. The test includes a partial valve test or a valve position check. It is determined, whether the check coincides with a prohibited time period. The first command is performed if the check does not occur during the forbidden period, and the second command - on the reverse condition. The second command includes rescheduling the execution of the check so that it does not occur within one prohibited period.
EFFECT: control over operation of the installation is improved.
