SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to supporting variable subcarrier spacing and symbol duration for transmission of OFDM symbols and other waveforms associated with cyclic prefixes. Variable interval between subcarriers and the symbol duration is determined by parameters indicating the interval between subcarriers, the length of the useful symbol, and the duration of the cyclic prefix. Method of an embodiment of the invention performed by a network or network controller includes generating a plurality of types of a multiple access unit, The MAB block determining various combinations of the subcarrier interval and the symbol duration, for signal waveforms. Method further includes dividing the frequency and time planes of the carrier spectrum band into a plurality of areas of the MAB blocks comprising frequency-time segments for signal waveforms. Then, for these areas of the MAB blocks, the types of the MAP block are selected, with one type of MAP block assigned to one corresponding area of the MAP blocks.

EFFECT: technical result consists in expansion of range of products, in which the duration of the symbol includes the length of the useful symbol and the duration of the associated cyclic prefix.
