SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to the feeding of newborn mammals. Milk mixture containing from about 2.0 up to about 10 grams per liter of bovine lactoferrin is administered to the newborn mammal that did not consume colostrum or breast milk. Another option of the method comprises administering the milk mixture comprising from about 2.0 up to about 10 grams per liter of lactoferrin to the large horned newborn mammal, which consumed colostrum or breast milk for the period of time not exceeding 1 week after its birth. Another option of the method comprises administering the milk mixture, which contains from about 2.0 up to about 10 grams per liter of bovine lactoferrin to the newborn mammal that consumed colostrum in the total amount not exceeding about 2 ml, or breast milk in the total amount not exceeding about 10 ml, or colostrum in total in the amount not exceeding about 2 ml, and breast milk in total in the amount not exceeding about 10 ml.

EFFECT: implementation of the group of inventions provides for the increase in the function of immune cells of the newborn mammals, which allows to reduce the level of infectious diseases and to strengthen the development of immunity of infants, who are on artificial feeding.
