SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SUBDERMAL VALVE SEALING Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61F2/24

Abstract RU 2644266 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: transdermal valve system for natural valve replacement contains valve and fastening elements. The valve element has a plurality of valve flaps contained in an aqueous medium. The fastening element is contained in a dry environment, the fastening element secures the valve element and has a bulk material. The bulk material has the property of swelling during contact with the aqueous medium. A method for manufacture of a transdermal valve system for natural valve replacement that has improved sealing properties. According to the method, the fastening element for valve element securing at the implantation site is mounted on the core. One or more layers of a primer coating of biocompatible material are applied to the fastening element, while rotating the core. The said layer of the primer is dried. A layer of bulk material is applied to the fastening element, while rotating the core, and the said layer of bulk material is dried. A method for improvable of transdermal valve system sealing, according to which: a modular transdermal valve system is provided, comprising a valve module and a supporting structure; the support structure and the valve module are loaded into the delivery device; the supporting structure and the valve module are deployed from the delivery device to form a tubular structure with a liquid medium; the support structure is expanded within the tubular structure and the support structure and the valve module are combined to form the assembled valve system in the liquid medium of the tubular structure. The valve module has a folded disassembled configuration for delivery and an assembled working configuration, and the supporting structure has a radially compressed configuration for delivery and a radially expanded working configuration. The valve module and the support structure are configured to be integrated into the working transdermal valve system after deployment from the delivery device, and the supporting structure has a bulk material attached to its surface. Before use, the supporting structure is contained in a dry medium, and the valve module is contained in a liquid medium. The bulk material has the property of swelling in the liquid medium to fill the gaps between the surfaces with which it contacts.

EFFECT: enhanced advantages of bulk materials such as hydrogels that swell in an aqueous medium; a possibility of fastening element storage in a dry medium separately from the valve flaps.
