FIELD: electronic equipment.

SUBSTANCE: household appliance H has electrical circuit (1) with first circuit (2) and second circuit (3) galvanically isolated from first circuit (1), and second circuit (3) having third circuit (10), and second circuit (3) having first control device (35) for interrupting the supply of energy to third circuit (10), wherein first control device (35) is configured to exert a control action thereon by third circuit (10) and to supply third circuit (10) for a predetermined self-holding time. Method serves to operate the household appliance (H), and when the home appliance is turned off (H), third circuit (10) is separated from its supply (18), and when the home appliance (H) is turned on: third circuit (10) is supplied with energy, and as a result, supply (18) of third circuit (10) is at least during the time of self-holding; and the power-supplied third circuit (10) exerts a control on first control device (35) to maintain supply (18) of third circuit (10).

EFFECT: household appliance may be, in particular, a clothes dryer and/or a washing machine.
