FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy and production of ferrous alloys, namely to production of iron-based friction powder metal composition. Invention can be used to manufacture parts of absorbing vehicles for automatic couplings of railway wagons, which operate under conditions of impact friction. Powdered metal-composite iron-based friction alloy contains, by mass%: graphite 3,5–5, tin 4,5–6, lead 4,5–6, nickel 0,5–1,5, molybdenum disulphide 2–3, silicon dioxide 1.5–2.5, iron – the rest.
EFFECT: material is characterized by high values of strength and tribological characteristics when working in the mode of impact friction.
