SUBSTANCE: device for detecting drops of water comprises: an image capturing mean having a photographic optical system for capturing the image of a predetermined area; and the mean of detecting drops of water for setting an arbitrary point of concentration in the image obtained by the image capturing mean. A plurality of the first datum points within an imaginary circle with a predetermined radius have a point of concentration as their center and a plurality of the second datum points correspond to the first datum points outside the imaginary circle, detecting edge information between the first datum points and the second datum points, and estimating the degree of circularity of the lines edges from the edge information, thereby detecting a drop of water adhered to the photographic optical system.
EFFECT: ensuring the detection of drops of water and increasing the accuracy of detection of three-dimensional objects.
