FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves coating using direct current from an acid electrolyte containing cadmium salt, an additive and water. The electrolyte additionally contains sulfuric acid, cadmium sulfate as cadmium salt and as an additive - a mixture in a weight ratio of 1:19 of the cube residue of ribose esterification with an aliphatic alcohol with the number of carbon atoms in the chain C16-C22 at a molar ratio of 1:1 and a condensation product of hexamethylenetetramine with dichloroethane at a molar ratio of 1:(2-6) respectively, with the following component ratio, g/l: cadmium sulfate (CdSO4⋅8/3H2O) 45-55; sulfuric acid 40-60; additive 7-15, and the coating is performed at a current density of 0.1-30.0 A/dm2, temperature of 15-30°C, and of pH≤1.
EFFECT: obtaining of uniform protective cadmium coatings on steel products from acid electrolytes in a wide range of current densities with high scattering power, which allows coating of hard-to-reach areas of complex products surface, mainly in rotating drum and bell type units.
